Dr. Michael J. Gordon, Jr is a North Carolina native. Dr. Gordon graduated high school in Fayetteville, NC then attended the United States Naval Academy where he earned an Aerospace Engineering Bachelor of Science degree while also completing his pre-dental courses. After fulfilling his service to the U. S. Navy, Dr. Gordon earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
Dr. Gordon joined Claremont Family Dentistry in 2014 and in 2015 purchased the practice. He has tirelessly worked to bring quality and care to our patients ever since. Known in the community for his effort to serve his patients with little to no discomfort, Dr. Gordon treats every visit with the goal of making it the best dental visit anyone has ever had. Dr. Gordon is passionate about staying up to date on the latest dental procedures and technology and employs his engineering background to continually improve on the science and mechanics of dentistry.
Dr. Gordon also embraces the Western Carolina community and has served as the Vice President and President of the Western Carolina Dental Society. He and his wife, Cecilia, have six wonderful children and when not in the office, you may find him camping as the Scoutmaster with the local Boy Scouts.
Amber joined our team in October 2015. Amber is happily married; she and her husband Adam have on “Fur Baby” a miniature schnauzer puppy named Willow. Amber has a passion for Claremont Family Dentistry, and she has a focused dedication to the practice, the employees and the patients. She takes pride in keeping the office running smoothly. Outside of the office, Amber enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to the beach, reading, hunting and being outdoors.
Callie is from Taylorsville, NC. Prior to working in the dental field, Callie worked at Peoples Drug Store as a pharmacy tech. Callie is our front office coordinator and helps our patients with all dental and insurance needs. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family, and being outdoors.
Amanda Bowman received her Associate in Applied Science of Dental Hygiene degree from Catawba Valley Community College in 2016. She was awarded with the Preventive Dentistry Award for class of 2016. She has been with Claremont Family Dentistry since July 2016. She is married to her husband Jason and a mom to two boys, Dylan and Talan. Some of her hobbies outside of work include hiking, CrossFit, traveling and spending time with her family.
A graduate of CVCC, Alishia graduated with honors among the top of her class and was awarded the Colgate Student Total Achievement Recognition Award. Alishia is happily married, she and her Husband Casey have one “Fur Baby” a humane society rescue puppy named Rusty. Alishia enjoys spending time with family and friends, Carolina Panthers football games and cheering on the Atlanta Braves. Alishia has been with our practice for over four years and loves helping her patients obtain the smile they have always dreamed of.
Marissa is our office coordinator and cross trained dental assistant. She enjoys interacting with patients on a daily basis and is highly efficient when it comes to her job. She has the ability to juggle many task and enjoys every day at the dental office. In her spare time she spends time with her husband and son, either at a game or hiking.
Since graduating from Lake Norman Dental Assisting School in 2011, Chelsei has applied her talents to the dental field ever since. With working as a dental assistant for six years now, she has the ability to make patients feel calm and at ease during all dental appointments. She also loves being a part of putting a smile on someone’s face daily. When she’s not working, Chelsei enjoys spending time with her husband and son, David and Colt. She is a sports fanatic and loves to cheer on her North Carolina Tar Heels and Carolina Panthers!
After graduating from Lake Norman Dental Assisting School in March 2018, Karalee has been a dental assistant for Dr. Gordon since April 2018. Ever since she has been at our office she has brought nothing but smiles to each patient no matter the situation. On her days off she enjoys riding motorcycles and playing outside with her Doberman pincher pups Bolt and Ruby.
My name is Tara, I am a hardworking dental assistant that’s loves her job! I have had plans to be in the dental field since freshman year of high school and I currently attend Catawba Valley Community College for Dental hygiene. In my spare time, I enjoy kayaking, crafts, and shopping. I believe that this career choice is heart filling, being I get to see so many smiles!
